ChurchSalary 3.0 offers powerful tools for clear insight into church compensation and staffing. The Hybrid Report and Precise Report both improve salary accuracy but serve different HR needs with unique methods and applications.

The Hybrid Report: Understanding Blended Roles ๐Ÿ”

The Hybrid Report is specifically engineered to address the modern reality of church staffing, where employees frequently "wear multiple hats," dividing their time and responsibilities across various ministries.

With Hybrid Reports, you can now combine compensation data from up to two to three different positions. This allows churches to model unique, composite roles rather than relying on generic, single-position templates. The report adjusts pay data automatically to match.

Traditional salary reporting often struggles with such blended roles, making accurate compensation assessment challenging.

How to generate a Hybrid Report ๐Ÿ“‹

  1. Click on Launch Dashboard once you are logged in, then click Hybrid Report under the Applications section of the page.

  2. Click Edit Criteria to add positions from the dropdown and assign a percentage to each.

Note: Position mix percentages must total 100%.

You can view up to four reportsโ€”one for the blended role and others for each individual position. This makes it easy to compare pay side by side, and all reports download together in one PDF. Choose from a combined hybrid report and standalone reports for each individual position.

Membership Access: Hybrid Reports are available to Expanded and higher-tier members.

Note: Certain sections, such as Employment Profile, Benefits, and Comparable Jobs, are not included in Hybrid Reports, either because they repeat information or are not applicable to the blended nature of the report.

The Precise Report: Customize your Search ๐Ÿ”Ž

In contrast, the Precise Budget & Size Report (often referred to simply as the Precise Report) moves beyond predetermined budget and attendance categories, empowering you to define your own specific financial and demographic parameters for salary report generation.

How to generate a Precise Report ๐Ÿ“‹

  1. Click on Launch Dashboard once you are logged in, then click Hybrid Report under the Applications section of the page.

  2. Click Edit Criteria to add positions from the dropdown and assign a percentage to each.

Range Slider: Use the slider to set minimum and maximum valuesโ€”like church budget, attendance, or years of experience. A chart shows how many churches or staff fit your range, so you can see the impact right away. A visual histogram accompanies the slider, illustrating the distribution of employees and churches, helping users understand how their custom range impacts data inclusion or exclusion.

Using the Church Size Range Slider ๐ŸŽš๏ธ

Church Size Range: Positioned above the "Generate Report" button, this banner provides a real-time count of "similar employees serving at similar churches" that will be used to generate the report based on the selected criteria.

  1. Drag the sliders to set your range

  2. Type in the input fields for precise values

  3. Press Enter to save your typed values

  4. Click outside to save & apply changes

Pro Tip: This report allows for more accurate reporting by placing your church in the middle of a precise salary range. This helps gauge report accuracy through sample size and margin of error, and facilitates iterative refinement of search parameters.

The Hybrid Report is designed for employees with multiple, blended roles, allowing the calculation of compensation based on a custom mix of positions. The Precise Report, conversely, focuses on refining the search parameters of church characteristics (budget, size, experience) to achieve a highly customized and statistically transparent salary report.

Hybrid Reports use percentage weights for different job titles. Precise Reports use exact minimum and maximum numerical ranges for budget, attendance, and experience.

Hybrid Reports offer a "Criteria Control Panel" and multiple report tabs to manage position mixes. Precise Reports utilize the "Histogram Range Slider" for graphical and numerical input of ranges, along with the "Sample Size Banner" and "Tooltips" for real-time feedback and data transparency.

Note: Hybrid Reports are accessible to Expanded members and above. Precise Reports require a Pro membership or higher.
